As a decoration, bunting has become more prominent in weddings. The carefully strung together and evenly spaced flags are a great way to add a little more character to a blank space. And not to mention – so on trend! However, have you ever tried to make bunting? The initial steps are easy but it is just oh so time consuming- that is where rural suppliers Meg & Lu step in.
Meg & Lu is a small business run by creative duo Megan and Laura Wetherspoon, just two sisters supplying the country with handmade bunting. That’s right- HANDMADE BUNTING.
Meg & Lu was established in 2013 when Lu became inundated with requests for her bunting that she gifted family and friends. With the talent of sewing already under control it was then that she turned to her creativity. Lu drew inspiration from her time as a photographer’s assistant, recalling what colours, patterns and themes worked well to conspire with Meg and create a range of unique bunting.
The range of bunting is available for hire upon request. You’ll save yourself time and money by hiring the bunting as opposed to making it yourself. When the wedding is over you’re not going to have a need for lengths and lengths of bunting, so just mail it back to Meg & Lu and it can be hired by another like-minded bride.
If you’re looking for customised bunting Meg & Lu will consult with you as to what colour scheme you’re trying to achieve and create samples until you’re happy. Customised bunting can be made to any length and is yours to keep after the wedding (additional costs associated).
Meg & Lu are here to serve brides from the land, when establishing the business they envisioned country weddings and consequently have made deliverance of their products flexible. Bunting can either be delivered in person (depending on distance to Meg & Lu’s at-the-time location), or mailed out to your property.
Bunting is such a simple and effective way of styling a large area and looks fabulous in a country setting. Whether strung between trees in a garden, between fence posts in a paddock, between chairs down the aisle or across the roof of a marquee- bunting can quickly add a pop of colour and charm to an area. Lets face it, bunting is going to cost a heap less than hundreds of flowers would and add a personal touch to the occasion.
